Community Use:

This campus is utilized by the community as a park and recreation center. On summer days, our field and playground host family activities and informal team games on a daily basis. The building is used extensively by groups such as extended education, scouts and other community groups. Our outstanding parent group (PTA) produces many family events such as Bingo night, the Otter Fun Run, carnivals, auctions, the Winter Breakfast and, occasionally, speakers of interest to parents. They also sponsor our reading program, provide assemblies for students and a great deal of support for our teachers. Field and gym use by youth sports groups such as PAA is a constant reminder of our status as a community-based school.

Building Condition:

Artondale School has 60,000 square feet which contains twenty two regular classrooms, two kindergarten rooms, four portable classrooms, two multipurpose rooms, a computer lab, a large library and a gym/music/stage complex. Artondale is a well built structure. It is our intent to promote routine preventive maintenance to keep us in top shape for future Artondale students. Ongoing projects include rehabilitating the banks on the west field, securing additional land for septic system needs in the next twenty years, upgrading the computer network, maintaining our HVAC system in top condition and enlarging the scope of our energy reduction program. It is our intent to maintain your building as a continued community asset through the year 2030 without need for major funding for remodels.
